Cowry User's Guide
Cowry is an application to install, update and manage applications and other software packages on your Mac. Cowry features a new packaging format (.cwz) for distributing Mac software over the Internet. The Cowry application allows you to inspect and extract/install these packages.
The current version of the Cowry application has two functions:
- Installing applications delivered in the .cwz format.
- Inspecting applications already installed on your Mac, similar to a "More info" in the Finder.
Future versions of Cowry will also allow you to see a list of installed applications and to check for new versions of those applications.
The following sections cover the Cowry 0.1 release in more detail.
